1. What is simplification in the traditional sense?
Simplified characters belong to the category of Chinese character reform, but they are completely different from the above reform. The so-called simplified characters only refer to another simple way of writing of some words (the original characters are called traditional characters). This simplified character, which is simplified because of complexity, was found in Oracle Bone Inscriptions in the Yin Dynasty as early as, and was also used by the people in Qin and Han Dynasties. Since the Song Dynasty, there has been more development. At that time, it was called vulgar characters and slang characters. It is similar to the simplified words which are not yet standardized without the approval of the state today. Therefore, simplified words are at best partial reforms.
In January 1956, the State Council promulgated the Chinese Character Simplification Program. By 1963, it had published four batches of simplified characters, totaling 571 (excluding simplified and analogous words). After simplification, the number of strokes of Chinese characters is greatly reduced, and the appearance becomes simple, which is easy to learn, write and disseminate. Simplified characters, which have been widely used now, are also a milestone in the history of Chinese character development. Moreover, the valuable attempt to reform Chinese characters has been widely welcomed and recognized by the people. It's hard to imagine how 1.2 billion people would still be in the jungle of traditional Chinese characters without simplification at that time.
2. Problems in Chinese Character Simplification
Under the historical conditions at that time, the idea of simplifying Chinese characters was not a global design and consideration. Maybe simplification is just a temporary measure. At that time, it was generally believed that the ultimate destination of Chinese characters was to "follow the road of common development of the world's languages" - to replace phonetic alphabets. Since it's something to be discarded sooner or later (along with simplified words), it's certainly not worth making a fuss.
Unfortunately, the "Cultural Revolution" in the past ten years has not really changed. If the campaign was an "unprecedented" national literacy campaign, all propaganda tools in that year were allowed to use pinyin instead of Chinese characters, Pinyin was "red" and who revolutionized. The Chinese character is "black", who reacts with whom. Oh, my God, why ten years, and why that price? Chinese characters have long been among the world's "advanced" ranks. History also has no medicine for regret. It just shows that it is impossible to ask more than a billion people today to abandon the use of Pinyin in Chinese characters. Moreover, more and more studies have shown that... The National People's Congress. For a considerable period of time, Chinese characters were still the proper characters of the Chinese nation, and Pinyin was only used as phonetic notation. Therefore, we should abandon the passion of Pinyin and face up to the serious problems in the existing Chinese characters and characters. I think any sage's prophecy needs time and practice to test. It is unrealistic to talk about this issue extravagantly at least at present. In the future, we should let our descendants think about it.
Full evidence is temporary in knowledge and simple in method. Some of these simplified characters adopted simplified characters or popular characters of past dynasties; some were newly created by the people in liberated areas and after liberation; some took part of the original simplified characters as simplified characters; some used simple variants or homonyms in strokes instead; and others used the method of regular scripts in cursive scripts. In short, "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea" is inconsistent. It lacks science and rigor, rules and formats, let alone a set of broad-spectrum and scientifically quantifiable simplified standards. This simplification has become a flaw in the end, and some even become "aftermath". The following is a delusion about the main existing problems:
It can be seen that the ancients, especially the lower classes, expressed their dissatisfaction with the complexity of Chinese characters. Fortunately, they did not want to test merit and fame, and there was no writing method at that time. These irregular folk characters were handed down, some of them were born and died, and some of them were copied from one another and passed on falsely. Many of them became later mistyped or false or variant characters. It makes Chinese characters more and more inaccurate, doubles the number of characters, and is very complicated. It was not until the fifty-fifth year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1716 A.D.) that a comprehensive inventory was made. At that time, the compiled "Kangxi Dictionary" had received more than 47,000 words. It is unreasonable to blame people's irregularity or low culture for the formation of these errors, because these errors or irregularities are common in our teachers, College students, journalists and other high-level intellectuals. Bishun and pen shape: Fei Zhaowu and Li Dao Nine Daggers Ying, mother and Guan, Huozhou. Persimmon and Peipei, Wei, Ling, Jing... There are a lot of new parts in the Chinese characters, so we will discuss them in the light of writing and so on.
3. Age Needs and Importance of Continuing Simplification and Reform
4. Reform is a scientific and thorough simplification
5. The reform of Chinese characters is a national event and a great achievement.
The whole people should be concerned about and participate in it.
